Car rental at Malaga and Marbella airport. Important information to help you save money

Planning a trip to Spain and need a car? Choose the right option based on the type of vacation you have in mind. If you're only visiting major cities like Barcelona or Madrid, you might not even need a car. Often, tourists book cars for city travel, which can ruin your vacation due to narrow streets and lack of parking. In Barcelona and Madrid, it's better to use public transportation and save time and money.

However, for trips to Andalusia or to the north, to the Basque Country, the Pyrenees, or Andorra, renting a car would be a reasonable choice. Small coastal towns, mountains, and the coastline create a magical setting that is definitely worth exploring in Spain.

Renting in SOLO rent a car is:

    • Full insurance
    • Free shuttle bus
    • Pay online or upon delivery

How to Get a Great Price on Car Rental in Spain

We don't recommend booking a car upon arrival in the country; it may not be cost-effective as prices will be significantly higher compared to booking online in advance. You can book a car rental at Malaga Airport and Marbella right on this website — select your desired dates, car, and make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance. This ensures the availability of a suitable car and saves you money on price and insurance.

    To find the best deal:

    1. Determine the important criteria for your car rental: manual or automatic transmission, air conditioning, number of doors, location.
    2. Try not to forego full insurance coverage. Our company offers unique insurance conditions with a zero deductible with the PREMIUM+ package. This means you don't pay anything beyond the rental amount in case of damage, accidents, or theft of the car.

Car Rental Prices in Malaga and Marbella

Car rental prices vary depending on the season and class. During peak demand periods, from March to November and during the Christmas holidays, prices may be higher. You can inquire about current prices for your dates and the class of cars you're interested in through the form on the website.

    Compare Offers

Compare offers from different companies and brokers. Note that prices on popular websites such as Rentalcars, Goldcar, Malagacar, or Booking may be higher than on other platforms. It's important to carefully review the rental terms. Avoid companies that force you to include additional services in the rental. At SOLO rent a car, we offer completely transparent conditions.

    Road System in Spain

Most roads in Spain have undergone significant reconstruction, providing easy and fast travel throughout the country, although there are still old and narrow highways on the outskirts.

Types of Roads Autovías (Motorways): Free-flowing lanes with a speed limit of 120 km/h. Some sections may have speed limits of 110 km/h or 100 km/h. No toll is required. Autopistas (Expressways): Toll motorways with a speed limit also of 120 km/h, but with a minimum limit of 60 km/h. Toll payment is required. Entry into city centers is free. Parking zones are called "zonas azules". Parking is allowed on weekdays, payment is made through parking meters. Traveling into rural areas. Streets in many rural areas of Spain are narrow and one-way. It's best to park on the outskirts and continue on foot to avoid difficulties. Safety on Coastal Roads. The accident rate on coastal roads is higher, so extra caution should be exercised when driving in these areas.

    Parking in Spain

Parking issues are concentrated in major cities. It's recommended to check for parking availability at the hotel when booking accommodation. On Sundays and holidays, parking is often free. There are underground parking lots (aparcamiento subterráneo) in major cities.

    Fuel in Spain

Gas stations are usually open from 8:00 to 20:00. Fuel prices range from 1.10 to 1.30 euros per liter. Types of fuel: Gasoline (Sin Plomo), Diesel (Gasóleo).

Traveling Beyond Spain in a Rental Car

With a car rented from SOLO rent a car, you should only travel within Spain. If you plan to travel to Portugal or other neighboring countries, contact customer support to clarify the conditions for crossing the border.
