Traveling along the coast in search of lighthouses
Spain is a country that never ceases to amaze with its diversity. Literally every traveler can easily find here something for himself. Not everyone has been able to witness so real old lighthouses, which are not only well preserved, but are actively working now. To solve this problem in the Kingdom can literally within one day. You can make such a mini-trip at any time of the year, if you travel by car.
It so happened that in Malaga there are no reliable tourist carriers that can show travelers so remarkable architectural monuments during the day. A reliable car rental service comes to the rescue in this case, allowing you to get premium level vehicles on attractive terms. Details of the work of such a system can be described infinitely long, but it is better to start to get acquainted with the upcoming route, because without a clear plan of action such a trip can become difficult.
Start and first object on the way
If you originally stopped in Malaga and immediately issued a car rental, the journey will begin quite easily. The starting point will be the local port, which is located, perhaps, one of the most authentic examples of Spanish lighthouses. Despite the fact that the building was quite damaged during a strong earthquake, local builders rebuilt it without making major changes to the classical facade. It is worth noting that we begin the journey with one of the oldest sea guides not only on the coast, but throughout the country. At the moment it is completely autonomous and functional. Along the way you can admire the numerous moored yachts and have breakfast in one of the coastal restaurants.
Faro de torre del mar
The transfer continues for a relatively short time, because the next mark on the map is only half an hour from the starting point. The trip will not be difficult, because the path should be kept to the rather famous city of Torre del Mar, known primarily for its quality beaches. Cars can be parked in the city and rent a bike. Practice shows that in this way it is much more convenient to get to the goal, especially if you move along the embankment. Necessary construction is difficult to confuse with something else due to the bright and uncomplicated design of the facade.
Faro de torrox
We'll have to call in a small quiet town Torroks. Tourists here are not too often, so get to the desired building is not difficult. Cars can be left on the free local parking and walk to the desired object along the picturesque promenade. The local lighthouse, by the way, is active and constantly accompanies all sorts of ships in the harbor.
Punta de la mona
It will not be easy to get to this location, because you will have to deviate from the previously constructed route on the N340 highway and visit the suburb of La Herradura. In the small streets here you can easily get lost, but a lot of signs and friendly townspeople are guaranteed to help out. The time spent with interest will pay off the impressions of the historic building of the lighthouse. Alas, it is inactive and there is no free access for visitors, however, the surrounding atmosphere and a wonderful panorama compensate for this shortcoming.
Cabo Sacratiff - the finish point on the map
Classic building located near the small town of Motril. The lighthouse stands on a fairly large hill from which a beautiful view of the Mediterranean coast.
If you are tired of the road and there is no desire to waste time and energy on the way back to Malaga, then we recommend you to return to Motril. In this town you can find decent hotels for the night and in no way inferior restaurants for dinner. The road back will take just over an hour. By the way, it is worth noting that all roads on this route are free, respectively, you do not have to make extra stops to make payments. The condition of the roadway is more than satisfactory here, but testing a rental car is still not recommended. Local police are watching every part of the route and the likelihood of getting a penalty for speeding here is quite high.
