The first ten minutes at the office decide how smooth the whole trip will be. Below is a checklist for anyone collecting a car at Alicante Airport. You can read more about the process itself on our page on car hire at Alicante Airport.
Before the office: how to get there
After landing, go down to level -2 and follow the Transfer Bus signs. Leave the building, walk to the express parking area, keep to the right-hand side and continue straight ahead. The branded SOLO shuttle will pick you up between pillars 43 and 47. When you arrive, call +34 610 78 79 20 and we will come straight to you.
1. Documents and card
Make sure you have with you:
- passport or ID;
- a category B licence valid in Spain, held for at least one year;
- a physical bank card in the main driver’s name (Luxury Elite requires two credit cards).
2. Inspecting the car
Inspect the car together with the staff member, without rushing:
- bodywork: bonnet, wings, doors, boot, roof, bumpers;
- glass: windscreen, rear window, side windows;
- mirrors and headlights;
- tyres.
Photograph any scratches, chips and damage, and make sure they are noted at handover. These are exactly the items covered in the package table for Basic, Comfort and Select, so it is better to know their condition before the trip starts.
3. Fuel and AdBlue
The car is handed over with a full tank: check that the dashboard confirms it. If there is an AdBlue indicator on the dashboard, remember what it looks like, and remember the rule: if the AdBlue range is 100 km or less, do not keep driving.
4. Terms worth confirming
- which package you have (Basic, Comfort or Select) and what it covers;
- which mileage limit applies to your rental length;
- what insurance includes and what it doesn’t: the company is not responsible for personal belongings left in the car;
- that you can drive only in mainland Spain and Gibraltar.

5. Return: find out everything before you leave
- Returns are 24/7.
- At night you may need to leave the car in a different car park: instructions will arrive by email, so check that you have received the message.
- Return the car with a full tank, otherwise you will have to pay for the missing fuel and a refuelling fee.
